IMT Future Miles

Twenty-five years of the IMT Des Moines Marathon has taught us something: the finish line is never really the end. It’s where the next mile begins.

That’s why we launched IMT Future Miles, a youth running impact initiative created in partnership with the Track Guy Foundation and IMT Insurance. Our goal is to invest dollars and race entries into Metro Des Moines youth running programs — because every kid who laces up deserves the same shot at confidence, resilience, and community that running has given generations of Iowans before them.

2026 Grant Recipient

a $7,000 grant to Des Moines North High School’s boys and girls track and field and cross country programs — the first of many investments to come.

IMT Future Miles Grant — 2027 Application Process

For Metro Des Moines Schools

IMT Future Miles is a commitment from the IMT Des Moines Marathon, the Track Guy Foundation and IMT Insurance to invest directly in youth running programs in the Des Moines Metro. Each year, a portion of that commitment is awarded to metro-area youth running programs.  In addition to dollars to the youth program, the IMT Des Moines Marathon will provide entry fees to the program beneficiary of the IMT Future Miles to that year’s IMT Des Moines Marathon Weekend races.
